April 4 for our Thursday Night Entertainment at The Confluence, our Feature will be Mike and Lauren with Mike Leslie, The Legend Of Eastbrook with Lauren McAnallen, a Legend herself. John Ross will be doing his usual excellent job of hosting.

Mike was born in New Castle and began his “singing and strumming” career at the age of 13 when he was asked to be the guitarist in a local gospel group. From there he spent some time in a disco/horn band, all the while pursuing a serious study of the classical guitar. By the time he reached college, his musical tastes had turned to country and bluegrass and he began to perform on the mandolin as well as the guitar.

Mike & Lauren began playing music together in 2005. After a few years of Lauren’s guest appearances in Mike’s band “Last Call” (formerly the Silver Creek Band) the two decided to sit down with their guitars and their mutual love of Waylon Jennings. While duets seemed to be the reasonable draw for their rehearsals, they struggled to find any actual “love” songs and instead were drawn to those of heartbreak, despair, and prison. After nearly a decade as members of the highly successful “Red Mountain Boys,” Mike & Lauren continue to incorporate those classic country sounds along with modern folk, rock, and bluegrass for a truly enjoyable listening experience. They have quickly become one of the favorite Feature performers at the Confluence.

Open Mic is from 6-7 with the Feature Performance from 7pm to 8:30ish pm … this will be a great show … come early and eat dinner
