Doug began playing the piano when he was 6 years old, but also put a guitar in his hands after seeing The Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show when he was 10 years old. That’s when he formed his first “Band” and began playing “small gigs” for school dances and local audiences in the New Castle area. Doug has continued along that 50+ year path today.
Doug’s abilities as a guitarist, musician, vocalist, and concert
performance leader have opened liturgical and secular doors in and out of our New Castle area. Currently, he serves as Music Director and Worship Leader at First Presbyterian Church of New Castle as well as guitarist and accompanist for Holy Spirit Parish of New Castle in Lawrence County.
Doug is also actively involved in his local community as an 18-year
Board Member of The United Way and also Director of Communication & Event Planning for The Albert Getting’s Leadership Project “Music With A Mission” for Veterans and Citizens.
Doug is extremely grateful to share his love of music with everyone and humbly honored to Entertain You in a relaxed Acoustic Performance setting.
He will be playing from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm on Thursday April 25th.
The Confluence will be selling food and drinks, though we do not sell alcohol, as long as you make at least a $5 purchase at our cafe you can BYOB (Bring your own booze).
